We originally moved to historical Huntingtower in 1994,along with our daughters Eva and Lisa, our home came with several acres of private land on which was the original cottage which we named Stable Cottage, as this was at one time the stable block for the large country house close by. We decided to market the cottage for holiday let as we enjoyed the area so much ourselves, we felt sure it would be an ideal holiday base. A lot of people agreed with us on this and after running Stable Cottage successfully over several years, we decided we should now expand to a further cottage, as we found we had to disappoint many of our visitors wishing to return. Orchard Cottage was up and running from June 2002 and has proven to be every bit as popular as the original.
We have our own private pond which attracts an abundance of wildlife in all seasons, we have local deer who come to drink as well as feed on what they can find in our garden, my plums seem to be their favourite! We have many squirrels and rabbits as well as pheasants and many wild birds including a heron that regularly visits our pond and a kingfisher. We also have our own resident geese and ducks as well as many wild ducks.
