Places Of Interest

We have a Country Hotel ''Huntingtower'' approximately ½ mile away in very pleasant rural surroundings. There are many places to eat suiting all tastes in and around Perth of course. We have local takeaways that will deliver to the cottages. Tesco supermarket is open 24 hours, 7 days a week about ½ mile from the cottages.

The ''Fair City'' as Perth is known also boasts many local historical attractions including Scone Palace, Balhousie Black Watch Museum and Huntingtower Castle, which is on our doorstep. Locally we also have Blair Atholl Castle, which hosts the Horse Trials annually, also Glamis that has a varied list of events each year.
Perth is famous for its original floral displays, which are in abundance in season and have won many awards to date. There are also various gardens open to the public.

Running through Perth is the river Tay, which is famous for salmon fishing, the river itself can be viewed and enjoyed from various points along Tay Street which has many restaurants. We have a new Leisure Pool and Ice Rink, which is famous for curling and many Golf Courses. The ''Home of Golf'' St. Andrews is around 40 minutes drive away and famous Gleneagles with all its leisure facilities 20 minutes drive.

In season Perth hosts the Game Fair (normally July), Perth Show and Highland Games and many other visitor attractions such as regular Farmers and Continental street markets in summer. We have the countries most northerly racecourse, with horse racing near Scone Palace on selected dates throughout spring, summer and autumn, always a great day out.
